You may think that to fix Windows XP registry is difficult, but it is not as it always seems. In fact, it would be easier to bring back the computer to its normal operation if you know how to diagnose the problem. Also, if you have the right tools, repairing it is no problem at all. So, your computer is indeed in in trouble? Are there symptoms telling the computer is in bad condition? Do the symptoms include different conditions such as error messages and slow sluggish performance, boot-ups, hangs, crashes, and freezes? If this is so, it is important that you check its Windows XP Registry.

That registry is similar to the filing system wherein it performs to keep the preferences and settings for the computer’s hardware, software, and its operating system. Just like the central nervous system, it makes the computer vulnerable to different kinds of errors and troubles when its function is compromised.

Anyone who is not familiar much to the Windows Registry will find it complicated and intimidating to fix, and therefore would not touch it for fear of making the trouble bigger. However, you do not have to be a trained computer technician to repair the problem. You only need to learn some things to fix it once your computer needs to be fixed.

Yes, the computer technician isn’t required at this time. But before you fix the main trouble, be sure that you perform a backup of your Registry and create new Windows restore point. In this way, you can revert back the computer to where you have begun your repair should any kind of damage happens in the middle of your cleaning process. You can do this method by following the first of the following steps.

First, click Start, and then point your mouse on All Programs under Start, and then Accessories, and Systems Tool. After which, click System Restore where under it can be found an option to start new restore point. After finding it, name it as you like, and then finish by clicking Create. This method gives your computer the restore point which is as mentioned needed to protect its operating system.

The second step is to again click Start. Find Run and click it, after which a box will appear where you have to type REGEDIT. After doing this, the registry editor will open. If you are not too familiar with what you are doing, don’t touch anything. Instead, click File after which the Export. Select a place where you will save the .reg file. Name the file and then save it. The finished file will now contain all the vital information.

Once you have secured all the safety backups, you are now ready for the third step, which is to fix Windows XP registry. At this point, you will have to use specialized software program. Be sure that you have the right one on your hand such that it operates to perform deep, rigid scan, locate broken, empty, and corrupted files, which will allow you to put them in trash later on.
